Teachers
At Mundo Ético we are committed to using games as a vital learning tool for girls and boys. In this way, they can reflect on Gender Equality, a topic so present in the framework of the 2030 Agenda, in a fun way, with the aim of shaping a new generation that is critical and committed to a more sustainable and inclusive development, beyond the reality of their family and closest environment.
Therefore, on the “Games for Equality” website, in addition to having a fun time, the games are transformed into activities that foster knowledge, promote curiosity, social commitment and reflection among students.
In each of the games we have added a drop-down option, where you can easily find some brief educational and pedagogical guidelines for each of the activities created and the recommended age for each game.
What aspects are worked on in the games?
In these games, we aim to train a new generation of global citizens with a critical conscience and committed to gender equality and the rights of girls and women, in all their diversity. Thus, to ensure that their commitment goes beyond their immediate reality, we aim to achieve the following objectives through the different games:
1. To provide innovative educational tools that, through play, contribute to greater knowledge and awareness of:
- the structural causes of gender inequalities.
- their main manifestations.
- the importance of making visible the key role of girls and women as agents in achieving inclusive development and of boys and men as key allies in advancing towards equality.
2. To develop in students a critical and committed attitude towards violations of the rights of women and girls, in all their diversity, both in their immediate environment and in the realities of other countries.
3. To contribute to greater knowledge and awareness among teachers of pre-school and primary education, providing new tools that will allow them to tackle through play with their students why gender discrimination (women, girls and people with sexual and gender diversity) continues to perpetuate the violation of women’s and girls’ rights around the world and how it can be eradicated.
What age groups are the games we propose aimed at?
All the games we have created are a fantastic tool for teachers in any educational environment (formal and non-formal education) and are especially designed for children: from the preschool to the primary education stage.
What topics are covered in the different games and what support materials can you use in the classroom?
